Exterior Painting FAQ's
Exterior painting runs $6,000 to $25,000+. A small single-storey home in one colour runs $6,000 to $9,000, a two-storey with trim and accent colours runs $9,000 to $16,000, and large or custom homes with extensive wood repair start at $16,000. Individual components like eaves, windows, or decks can be quoted on their own.
Exterior projects run 3 days to 2 weeks, weather permitting. A small single-storey home takes 3 to 4 days, a two-storey with trim about a week, and a large home with extensive wood repair 1 to 2 weeks.
Late spring through early fall, when temperatures are mild and humidity is low enough for paint to cure properly. We avoid extreme heat, cold, rain, and wind — timing affects the finish as much as prep does.
Typically 5 to 10 years, depending on the product, exposure, and upkeep. Peeling or fading is the signal it's time for a fresh coat.
The best time to paint the exterior of a house is during late spring or early fall. During these seasons, the weather is usually mild with low humidity, which helps the paint cure properly. Avoid painting in extremely hot or cold temperatures and during rainy or windy weather. This ensures a smooth finish and long-lasting results. Remember, good preparation and the right timing make all the difference!

Always. Dirt, mildew, and chalking stop a coating from bonding, and painting over them is the most common reason exterior jobs fail early. Pressure washing, scraping, sanding, and spot priming are included in every exterior project.
Yes. Minor wood repair — soft spots, small rot sections, and board replacement — is part of the project. If the damage is extensive, we'll show you what we found and price the repair separately.
Yes. Each surface needs a different coating system, and brick in particular needs a breathable product so moisture isn't trapped behind it. We'll assess your surfaces and specify accordingly.
Yes. Decks, porches, railings, fences, and pergolas can be stained, sealed, or painted depending on the wood and the look you want. Ontario's freeze-thaw cycle is hard on horizontal surfaces, so product choice matters.
We stop and resume when conditions are right. Coating a damp surface compromises adhesion and cure, so we build weather buffer into every exterior timeline and keep you posted as the forecast changes.
Our exterior season runs March through October. Booking in late winter is worth it if you want a spring slot — interior, cabinet, and commercial work continues year-round.
