Serious cabinet refinishing work requires the use of lacquers and not traditional house paints. The majority of kitchen cabinet refinishing jobs done by Paris Fine Finishing use a 2 component polyurethane lacquer for a durable and seamless finish.

Up to 15 doors and drawers runs $2,500 to $4,500, 16 to 35 with an island runs $4,500 to $8,000, and a full two-component project with booth finishing, cabinet interiors, and new hardware runs $8,000 to $15,000+.
Most projects take 4 days to 2 weeks. A smaller kitchen takes 4 to 6 days, a larger kitchen with an island 6 to 9 days, and a full two-component project with off-site booth finishing 10 to 14 days. Cure time is part of that.
Considerably. New cabinetry typically starts around $20,000 to $30,000 installed, while refinishing starts at $2,500 and reuses your existing boxes and doors. If the boxes are sound and you like the layout, you get most of the visual change for a fraction of the cost.

Cabinet work needs lacquers, not house paint. Most projects use a two-component Renner polyurethane system for maximum hardness, while smaller jobs use a one-component industrial wood coating.
Doors and drawer fronts always come off and are sprayed separately — on larger projects, in an off-site booth for a cleaner, more controlled cure. Face frames and cabinet boxes are sprayed in place with full containment.
Yes, in most cases you can stay in the home. We take measures to minimize any odour and contain dust, but we will discuss any concerns before starting.
Partially. Doors and drawer fronts come off early, so you'll have open shelving for part of the project, but counters, sink, and appliances stay usable. We give you a day-by-day outline before starting.
Yes. Dark-to-light changes need full-coverage priming and extra coats so the original colour doesn't bleed through, which adds time and cost. The result is a completely different kitchen without touching the layout.
Yes. With the doors and drawers already off, it's the natural time to update pulls, knobs, and hinges. If you're keeping your existing hardware, it's removed, labelled, and reinstalled exactly where it came from.
